Caught up in war, Odigo leaves his new bride to join the army. He is captured and cannot get in touch with his family. The thought of Celina, his wife, comforts him and gives him hope during his captivity. But when he is freed he finds things at home are not the same as he had expected. Celina is married to another man who will not give her up. The visit of an itinerant trick cyclist brings matters to a tragic head.
