Bashorun Gaa is a classic traditional Yoruba movie, a story of a sadistic and power-drunk Kingmaker who wielded unmatched power and influence in Oyo Kingdom. So much was his influence that even the Alaafin, to ensure a successful reign on the throne, had to always acknowledge Gaa’s preponderance, and try not to offend him. Gaa and his household, well aware of their status and power, go about unleashing terror and oppression on helpless folks, with impunity. But the story reaches a turning point when Gaa sadistically kills the Alaafin’s only daughter and uses her for ritual.
