About the author:
Bolu Babarinsa is a medical doctor. Born in 1960 to a railworker in Jos, he grew up in the Northern parts of Nigeria. Most of his formal education was at Ilorin, where he attended the Cherubim and Seraphim College, the Federal Government College and the University of Ilorin. He won the Nigerian Television Authority Lagos' Easter Essay Contest in 1981 (First Prize Winner) as well as a prize in the Annual John F. Kennedy Essay Competition in 1978/79. He read Clinical Medicine at Ilorin on a Federal Government Merit Award Scholarship.
