About the novel:
As children, Nkwanzi and Rumondo have a love/hate relationship. As they grow older their ways part. Nkwanzi is sent to boarding school, a privilege in Uganda of the 1940s, and Rumondo joins the British Army to fight in the Second World War. He tries to ask her to wait for him, but she is unwilling to listen. Years later they meet. Both of them have changed, but will their relationship be any different now?
About the author:
Born in Mbarara, Ankole and she was educated at the Bweranyangi Girls' Secondary School and the Gayaza High School before taking a Bachelor of Science degree at Makerere University. Muheki-Rushedge has worked for the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a chemist. She is a member of the International Association for Water Pollution Research. She is a keen sportswoman.
